• Global Volunteers’ host on the 'garden island' of Kauai, the Resource Conservation Program of Hui o' Laka, has requested volunteers to assist in preparing the site for its annual festivals, such as grooming the grounds and setting up tents, cleaning the museum building, and assembling auxiliary exhibits in adjacent buildings, helping with food preparation and restoring the site after the visitors leave.  Contact Global Volunteers, 375 E. Music, film, and other cultural events
• The Luau Feast takes place every year in January. Check it out at 2055 Kalia Road, Honolulu.

• Don't forget to eat at 3660 On the Rise located at 3660 Waialae Ave., Honolulu, HI 96816-3257( 808) 737-1177. The best food (if a little pricey, but not for Hawaii). The Mahi Mahi was to die for and the Taro rolls could be a whole meal.
