Gatherings
  Kindred Spirits is a group which facilitates monthly gatherings for former volunteers in Portland - usually potlucks in homes on the 3rd Thursday of each month. For more information, contact Carol Gabrielli at 503-335-8202.

Journey and Koinonia Catholic Community is an ecumenical, intentional Eucharistic community  which is a small faith community that gathers every Sunday evening at 6:00 at Bridgeport UCC (Portland) to celebrate Eucharist. The language is inclusive, the liturgies are participatory, and all are welcome. 

 

Volunteer programs headquartered in Oregon
  One way to get connected with current and/or former volunteers in the area is to plan intercommunity volunteer gatherings such as prayer groups, game nights, meals/picnics, etc. 

The following programs are headquartered in Oregon: Jesuit Volunteer Corps: Northwest (Portland),  Pacific Alliance for Catholic Education (PACE) (Portland) and Bend Volunteer Corps (Bend).
 

Parishes that current and former volunteers have recommended
  St. Andrew's Parish at 806 NE Alberta St., 503-281-4429. Many formers and young people attend; strong community feeling and social justice ministry.

St. Francis of Assisi Parish at 330 SE 11th St., 503-232-5880. Great community feel and an emphasis on social justice ministry.

St. Ignatius Parish at 3400 SE 43rd Ave., 503-777-1491.

St. Vincent DePaul Parish - 601 West Burnside, 503-228-0746.  The Downtown Chapel is a Holy Cross parish with a wide variety of parishioners that serves the Gospel of the Poor.  It's Open Door Ministries serve the poor & homeless of Portland daily.  Email for more information.

Retreat opportunities/spirituality centers

  Try out the following restaurant - Delta marks the spot for Southern comfort food in Southeast Portland. What started as a cool Reed College hangout has since been discovered by the rest of Portland.
